High Quality Programs
What we offer
Respond, Inc. child development programs offer the parents and children of Camden City and County high quality development for children infant, toddler, and preschool age as well as school aged for Summer Camp. Facilities are located throughout Camden City. Respond Child Development Centers open daily from 7:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. with breakfast, lunch and a nutritious snack provided each day, following the sound nutritional guidelines of the Child Development Center Food Program and Respond’s initiatives that ensure healthy eating for all of our children.
High Standard Development
In each center, qualified and conscientious staff members provide children and their parents with a strong educational foundation, as well as health, nutrition, social and community services. Respond’s Infant programs meet the needs of newborns to 2½ year-olds in settings which provide both love and developmentally appropriate activities.
In Responds developmental preschool programs, an early childhood curriculum helps children acquire thinking skills. Language development, cognitive growth, creativity through the arts, movement and music are integral parts of the daily curriculum. Trips to museums and live performances enhance children’s skill development in many areas.
A Summer Enrichment Day Camp for ages K– 12 is available at our Linden Street Center when schools close for the summer months.
Since 1999, Respond has been a provider of 3 and 4 year old classrooms for the Camden City School District under the State of New Jersey Abbott District mandate for preschool education. These pre-kindergarten classrooms are provided at no cost to parents during school day hours at five of our Camden city child development centers, with open enrollment of age-eligible children. To defray the costs of child development services, fees are based upon family size and income for those who qualify for subsidized development. Private slots are also open for parents who may not qualify for subsidized development. Families with the Department of Children’s Services programs are welcomed!

Testimonial
“A child development application for the North Camden site was received today for an autistic child who is eligible for the ABBOTT class in September. The parent was not familiar with the school district classes. When it was explained the slot at the North Camden site may not become available until after school opens in September, the parent stated why she specifically requested the North Camden site. She is aware of another autistic child currently enrolled at North Camden who has made great progress in behavior and speech. The parent feels the progress is a result of the teaching staff’s patience and encouragement and wants her child to have the same experience.”
